The North American Mountain Forum (NAMF) is the regional network of Mountain Forum in North America. NAMF is a community of people and organisations that share information and assist one another in support of North American mountain environments, communities and sustainable development.
NAMF members exchange information using a discussion list, the Mountain Calendar, and the Mountain Forum Online Library. They also participate in occasional electronic conferences on relevant regional issues - such as mountain watersheds - and contribute to international mountain publications such as the Mountain Forum Bulletin and the scientific journal, Mountain Research and Development.
Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, Canada hosts a small North American Mountain Forum office. One staff member moderates a regional discussion list, encourages information exchange, introduces like-minded individuals and organisations, and liaises with North American mountain organisations. This person also keeps regional members abreast of the international mountain agenda and supports international electronic consultations.
Currently, there are 46 organisational members from 3 countries and 593 individual members from 4 countries who are registered with NAMF.
The Executive Director for Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre serves on the Board of Directors of Mountain Forum.
Ms. Amélie Peck, Program Officer for the North American Mountain Forum is the node manager for Mountain Forum in North America.
