More About Membership

The membership database of Mountain Forum contains information, which helps members to build both institutional and individual links with each other and find opportunities to strengthen each other. The database can be searched to find individual members or organisations by name, and/or by geographical location and/or by area of expertise and/or interest.

Membership of Mountain Forum is open to individuals and organisations concerned with sustainable mountain development. Membership of Mountain Forum is free and does not involve any costs. With the decentralised and democratic approach adopted by Mountain Forum, members themselves drive this global network. To have the voices of members heard as well as to give them a greater a stake in the decision making process, representatives from among members from around the world are represented on the Mountain Forum Board of Directors. Members need not necessarily have internet and email connectivity and members can join and participate in Mountain Forum both electronically and through regular mail. Once you become a member, there is no annual subscription, or other fees. Mountain Forum encourages members to share information and participate in the activities of the network.

A member of Mountain Forum is any individual or organisation who submits a registration form sharing information about themselves and/or their organisation and indicating a wish to become a member of the network. There are two categories of membership, one for individual members and the other for organisations.

You do not necessarily have to have regular access to the internet to become a member of Mountain Forum and participate in its activities.

In case you have limited or no regular access to the internet and would like to know how to become a member and participate in Mountain Forum activities, please write to the office closest to you via regular post, telephone, fax or email.
